President Bush said terrorists will win if Democrats win and impose their policies on Iraq, as he and Vice President Cheney escalated their rhetoric Monday in an effort to turn out Republican voters in next week's midterm elections.
If the Democrats win, the Republicans will line the streets of Washington and welcome them as liberators.
My statement has as much credibility plus i don't have a proven history of deceit.

Don't forget there is $20 million unspent for a celebration in DC.
like i said before, win or lose, i want to buy at least one keg for myself with the $20 mil. party fund. and maybe even some streamers to decorate with.
YEEHAW!!

There is no way Republicans lose. We have all the Diebold backdoor passwords. Republicans win by a landslide. Maybe by more people than live in whichever state.
.....Click, click, click click - passwords are a-typing ..... Give up! You can't win!!!
Muhahahahahahahahah!
The washington post is one of those phunny papers... right? Always hyping up BS?
Owned by the reverend moon who has the Bush family in his pocket.
Actually, it's the Washington Times which is owned by Moon.
Excellent, Thanks. Thats my 'dartboard what dartboard? I just like throwing the things' moment for the day done.
If America loses under the Democrats, I'm ready to lose....this "winning" doesn't seem to be all its cracked up to be.
No we've not done too well staying the course on this winner have we?
It must be some new form of "winning" that I am unfamiliar with.
Look at the balance sheets for the Wall Street warriors. Things have never been better and Bonesmen lead the winners.
Whenever Bush says anything just think of Bizarro World from Superman, everything is bass ackwards.
"We believe that marriage is a union between a man and a woman and should be defended," Bush shouted.
So if Democrats win, they will defile the sanctity of Marriage... I'd really like to know how many Republican's have divorces... anyone? anyone? Repubs?
A lot... What's your point?
I just think its funny how years ago the idea of legislating divorces was as big a hustle and bustle as this is now, and technically Divorce is something that is not in line (violates the sanctity) with the idea of marriage (which, conservatively, is a promise FOR LIFE).
Most Christians will not argue against your point, because it's right. Being Christian, I recognize the hypocrisy within our own, but also within everyone elses realm too.
The bible speaks of hypocrisy in every form, such as sin and the will to curb sin. Sinning and knowing your sinning and trying not to sin is hypocrisy personified, but it's something that can humble Christians and progress their beliefs.
Divorce, from your point of view is straight and narrow, when it usually isn't. Divorce happens for many reasons and for Christians, it usually isn't because "someone wanted out". Something happened, such as infidelity. There is mis-trust there and though the bible speaks of forgiveness, there is a small minority that try to work it out and keep their marriage. Most can't get past it and decide to give up.
Divorce is something devout Christians struggle with, because they broke a promise with their spouse, whether in the right or wrong and with God. Because Christians are Christians, they are forgiven, but still bear guilt of sin such as divorce.
There is much more about divorce in the bible and if you're interested in the Christian perspective, I recommend you read it.
Just because Christians get divorced doesn't mean their ignorant to the hypocrisy that is sin, it just means they have to recognize their own short comings and try to do better the next time around.
That in a nutshell, is what being Christian is all about.
Oh, I have read it. I think the idea of allowing same sex marriage is about equal in philosophical hypocrisy as divorce is. If you can allow people to break a bond, that cannot be broken in life, then you must allow that bond to be made between man and man, or woman and woman, as you would be equally defiling the sanctity of marriage.
The concept of sin opposing sin, is why I don't trust ANYONE who labels themselves as a "Christian" (yes, all of you people). You can't judge anyone, by your own rules, so how dare you tell anyone how to live or whom to marry? Hypocrisy is in high demand in American-flavored Christianity.
The truth is marriage is a religious ceremony (that's 90% of the time) and conveniently a tax break (100% of the time). I can see why lawmakers wouldn't want people getting married as roommates to make a killing on their taxes. Anyhow, that's just one wild idea. I know it seems wrong... immoral, what-have-you, but it IS their right to eternal damnation right? If you think its going to send them to hell what right do you have to stop them, beyond advising them that it is wrong in the eyes of God? (YET AGAIN... who are you to presume you know God's divine will?)
First off, do you want to attack Christians or get the to agree with your point?
Second, I'll trust you unless I have reason to distrust you. Everyone does right and wrong, therefore you are no different than me in such terms. I believe this is smarter than saying you don't trust anyone, because they do wrong, so who the hell made you so right?
I label myself as Christian and take all the criticism that comes with it. I believe that marriage, IN A CHURCH, is between a man and a woman. I believe that BY LAW, marriage is between two consenting adults. That's the difference you get when you speak with someone that believes CHURCH and STATE are separate.
This country has an issue with CHURCH and STATE and it's not because of the existing GOP. This is because of our founding fathers, which is another heated debate; traditions or progression?
Since the Church was the State for the founding fathers, of whom were of Christian belief, marriage was assumed man and woman. Today, marriage, by law, should be two adults of what ever sex. I believe though, again, that in the Church, marriage is that of a man and woman.
Abstract out the Church and make law as cold as blatantly possible. We Christians will maintain the sanctity of our beliefs on our own and we don't need the government to help us out.
Last, it's hypocritical as a Christian to force someone to stop behaving in a way that would get them sent to hell. Christians believe what is in the Bible and that is God gives you will to believe in him or not. Thus, Christians can try to convince someone to change their ways or let them go. We are to take it as a great loss (someone going to hell), but there's nothing we can do. Sure, we can all agree that some things in this world must be stopped, like murder, child pornography and anything else that separates civilized man from brutes. But, no one has the right to push theological beliefs on anyone else. That's how I see it and many others see it that way.
No one has a clue as to whether it's God's will, but they know what they believe and they put faith in such belief. Clues to God's will though are in the Bible.
So, you said you read the Bible, what's your favorite book?
I do not favor any book more than another, as they are part of a greater, more important whole collection of books. I especially enjoyed Proverbs, all the knowledge of Solomon was of great use to understand the difficulties Jews and Christians have in understanding and loving one another. The Hebrew translation of the book can be interpreted totally different than the English translation. It can be read to form the basis of philosophies that are somewhat in conflict... however, I digress this subject is for another philosophical debate... I ask you... have you read the Old testament in Hebrew? I didn't think so, most Christians haven't.
Its not whether I want anyone to agree with me, or attack Christians, I want people to use critical thinking when it comes to religion... which it seems you have been doing quite well considering you understand the difference between CHURCH and STATE affairs. I respect you for stating that, however you have some of your history way off.
The "founding fathers" is an ambiguous term associated with the people who created the US. They include many people, so to be accurate, please specify whom you are speaking of. The group of men who fought to free the US were not the same men who wrote and created the US government. I consider them two different groups. The men who established the US government, "Founding fathers" were almost all Deists... not Christian. They retained some Christian beliefs and associates, however they we're mostly Deists. Ben Franklin, Deist. George Washington, Deist. Thomas Paine, Deist. Thomas Jefferson, Deist. Those founding fathers, were not Christians... they were Deists.
Another historical point you made that was abundantly wrong, was that the founding fathers considered Church and state to be the same thing. They were not in the slightest considered to hold that belief. The puritans (Plymouth Rock)? They left England BECAUSE church and state were synonymous. You really need to learn more about this subject (or this area of history).
Lastly,
We Christians will maintain the sanctity of our beliefs on our own and we don't need the government to help us out.
I commend you on your forward attitude toward people who are not of Christian faith. It is very very very good to see that you are intelligent enough or enlightened enough to know not to force your religion on others by means of the rule of law. I applaud you for this. Remember, I don't trust Christians who label themselves self-rigtheously as a Christian... it seemed, just for a second, as if you were one of those individuals who throws his faith in people's faces to make the statement, "I am better than you because I found Jesus". But I regret making that assumption now that I see you are not one of those individuals.
No only the republicans lose.
If the Democrats win the cycle will start anew only worse. The Democrats are for larger government. Larger government, by definition, is why we are where we are. Vote Libertarian and turn DC into a planter.
I'd rather have a divided government where the President doesn't get everything he wants and only the the major bi-partisen bills pass. If I were you, I'd vote Democrat this round and make your stand during the presidential election (which is what I'll do by voting for a 3rd party.)
T_Bone-
can the government GET any larger?
Apparently. One of the reasons I wouldn't vote democrat no matter what is a recent comment from Ritter, the D Gubernatorial candidate from Colorado who said this from Dawn Winker's Site:
Ritter: Upside Down Economics
Quote of the month, from Bill Ritter, Democrat candidate for Governor of Colorado, in the Sunday 10/22 Grand Junction Sentinel:
"The idea that you can make government smaller and still expect a better tomorrow is just upside down."
To which I respond: "The idea that you can make government bigger and still expect a better government violates every known economic principle.
Governments don't make a better tomorrow, people do."
Dawn Winkler-Kinateder
Correction: "American loses under politicians"
We lose regardless of which way we vote. When will we have people we can vote for instead of voting against?
Although I prefer a divided govt that is gridlocked so its gets nothing done (ie doesnt screw anything up), we waste so much time and money doing that. And what happens if they pass things that I really really dont want, like illegal immigrant amnesty? Which way would I lose more? Doing that or keeping Republicans in power that when they are screwing up? I can understand why some people will sit home.
with victories like those bush has given us, how can we possibly be concerned about what he claims will be a loss. i think we can probably all agree that bush is the jackass superman of bizarro world and, therefore, we should welcome something he considers bad. in fact, i'd be in favor of establishing a new governmental constitution which creates laws based solely on the opposite of what george w bushy would like to do. that would be a wonderful constitution.
i agree.. with victories like bushco has provided, losing dosn't seem so bad..
im wait for the dip@!$%# to just come out and say, " a vote for democrats is a vote for the 'terrists"
the best thing we could do is to deliver w, dick, rummy, paul, and condi to downtown Baghdad and leave them chained to a post in their underwear.
where can i vote for that option?
you mean it wasn't on you ballot?
a vote for democrats is a vote for the 'terrists
actually, i think he basically did say that.
you guys are all crazy. i want to torture who i please, when i please, and as i please. we're winning the war because we have more weapons and Jesus hates the arabs. can't lose with that buddy.
and if democrats win we'll be forced to marry gay monkeys, issue visas to every terrorist (which is anyone with skin pigmentation), give them bombs and weapons, and... ummm... start driving on the left side of the road?... yeah, thats it, the LEFT side of the road! wake up america!! our cars aren't designed for that!!
now please excuse me while i go away to canada.
welcome to canada anytime babar. just fyi, if any canadian offers you a toque... it's just a hat :-)
After six years who really gives a Rat$ behind what bush says??
Only the other rat$ in Washington.
Here's a funny cartoon I found online that pretty much sums up today's Republican party. Maybe if they watch it'll help them get a clue about how they're selling this country out.

Key word in this seed:
Rhetoric
One definition:
language designed to have a persuasive or impressive effect on its audience, but is often regarded as lacking in sincerity or meaningful content.
Remember the old adage...If you want to live like a Republican, vote like a Democrat.
History shows the stock market actually performs better under Democrat administrations.
