The iPhone hype is so intense right now, I think people will be buying this phone based on hype alone. I mean, is the phone really that great? Our duty is to keep you informed regarding details we come across, so the more I read about the iPhone, the less I want it.
I can answer it much more simpler:
I don't have money nor any interest in it.
The end
I completely agree with you, Scott. Despite the fact I can feel the endorphins flowing through my body when I think about upgrading my phone, I can't see any reason to go for this one.
I have an HTC smartphone (3G), which has been available for about 6 months now. It's an mp3/mp4 player, camera (and video camera which the iPhone isn't). I can surf the net on a full browser, it slides out to a full QWERTY keyboard for easy texting and emailing (what will those soft keys on the iPhone be like to use for a serious texter?), I have a good range of games on it, an RSS reader, TomTom satnav software, MS Outlook and Windows Mobile, AvantGo, an eBook reader, Windows Media Player, streaming media player, infrared, bluetooth and WiFi connections, Skype, Google Maps - oh, and it can make phone calls too!
What on earth would I want an iPhone for???
Sorry, I should have said - the phone retails at around £500-£600 but I got it free from my network operator for renewing my contract for 18 months.
I was watching yesterday in the sat a Mayor from somewhere that was sitting and waiting for buying an IPhone and he asked his staff to bring the important papers for his signature.
Burocracy and waste of our taxes and their very best.
